Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3


Mercedes has released a special racing version of their already really successful model, the SLS AMG which was dubbed Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3. The race model has received a full aerodynamics package that includes a new front bumper with a splitter, a new bonnet with a central cooling air vent, wider front and rear wings, new wheel arches and side skirts with integrated cooling vents, a smooth rear diffuser and of course, a GT-style rear wing.

The Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 is powered by a 6.3L V8 that was upgraded to deliver 600 HP. This engine is connected to a six speed racing transmission system with shift paddles mounted on the steering wheel and and an integrated multi disc locking differential.

The car received a double wishbone suspension made from forged aluminum with adjustable springs, shock absorbers, suspension height, stabilizers and even the track width and camber are adjustable. The C-pillars of this GT3 model have integrated standardized filler pipes for the fast refuel system during races.

Mercedes also installed a rack and pinion steering with a more direct ratio and speed sensitive servo assistance for better handling. The upgrades continued by installing high performance racing brakes. Inside, the luxurious interior has been stripped out to reduce the car’s weight as much as possible.
